Frequently asked questions
How are the quotes chosen?
Each passage is selected for its depth and its accessibility. The goal is not to show off obscure verses but to offer something that rewards a minute of reflection — regardless of your background in the traditions.
Can I pick which sources show up?
Yes. In settings you can enable or disable any of the five sources (Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Vivekananda, Buddha, Kabir) individually.
Does the app need internet?
No. Every quote is bundled with the app itself. The app works entirely offline.
Are translations included? Which ones?
Yes — each quote appears in English. Where relevant, the original Sanskrit or Hindi line is shown above the translation. Translations are chosen for faithfulness to meaning over poetic style.
The widget isn't updating. What should I do?
Android's battery optimization can sometimes pause background widgets. Open the app once to force a refresh, and check that battery optimization isn't restricting Vedic Wisdom in your device settings.
Is there an iOS version?
Not yet. Vedic Wisdom is currently Android-only.
